2017 Wild Vitis Vinifera Sangiovese Reserve

Vitis Vinifera is based on early theories about the origin of Sangiovese that dates the grape to the time of Roman winemaking. The grape that makes Sangiovese was first cultivated in Tuscany by the Etruscans from wild Vitis vinifera vines, thus the name chosen by Stanton Barrett Family Wines, Wild Vitis Vinifera Reserve Sangiovese.

The literal translation of the grape's name, the “blood of Jove”, refers to the Roman god Jupiter, also known as Jove the god of the sky and thunder. He was the king of all the gods in Ancient Roman religion and mythology. As a sky-god, he was a divine witness to oaths, the sacred trust on which justice and good government depend.

Stanton Barrett Family Wines' oath and sacred trust are governed by our foundation built upon an ancient tradition of excellence.

May you drink wild under the sky and may the thunder of Wild Vitis Vinifera Reserve touch your palate with a powerful yet subtle soul that inherently captures a perfection of satisfaction that lingers deep into the eternity of your taste and desires.
